In 3 Ring Circus, you direct a travelling circus touring the United States at the end of the 19th century. Hire artists, put on performances in towns and cities, and build your troupe's fame, perhaps enough to catch the eye of P.T. Barnum himself.

How it plays

On your turn, you either hire an artist or host a performance. Your circus starts empty, so you'll need to hire performers to form your company. Artist cards give more or fewer benefits depending on the order in which they act, so planning your shows is a key part of the game.

To perform, move to a free space on the map:

• Towns: easy to set up, and they reward you with the most basic currency cards to help upgrade your cast.
• Small cities: a bit more demanding, but they put you in touch with better artists. Depending on how many pedestals your company has, you can claim more or fewer entry cards (the second most valuable currency) or fame points.
• Big cities: the audience always demands a specific type of artist, but performing there earns you a lot of fame.

The Barnum Circus

While your circus struggles to get by, the great Barnum Circus travels across the country. When it reaches a big city, a scoring round is held for that region, and the circuses that have given the most performances there earn even more fame.
