Apex Legends: The Board Game is a tactical, team vs. team miniatures game that brings the battle royale of the Apex Legends video game to the tabletop. Play takes about 60-90 minutes, depending on the number of players and the game features chosen.

The action is set on the Kings Canyon map and centres on the final zone, where the last confrontation takes place. Each player controls a unique legend, and teams activate one at a time as they fight for key positions, grab loot before their opponents do, and take cover or shield a teammate at the right moment.

When activated, a legend can move, interact, use and attack. Players can also draw on their legend's unique combat and utility abilities and a deck of legend-specific feat cards. Building a team whose legends complement each other, and making full use of the strategic options available, is the path to victory.

A turn doesn't end the game's action for the other side. During an opponent's turn, legends can respond with instant and reaction cards. Reactions let players take cover, recover a shield or help an ally when they or a teammate are attacked, while instant cards can be played once their condition is met to disrupt an opponent's next move.
