Atiwa is a game by Uwe Rosenberg that explores the agricultural wonders of the African continent. Players lead a family of fruit farmers and discover that fruit bats, known as flying foxes, are useful to their farming as well as being fruit thieves.

The theme

The bats eat fruit from the trees, but they also spread seeds, which helps grow the number of trees the farmers can tend. This leads to a symbiotic relationship in which farmers keep bats as pets to expand their farms more quickly. The catch is that more bats need more space.

Players who find the right balance between their bats and the growth of their farm succeed and win the game.
