Chicago & NorthWestern is an economic railroad game set in the late 1800s, as rival tycoons race to build lines west from Chicago across the American midwest. Players found railroads, buy and sell stock to raise capital, and lay track across the great plains in pursuit of profit.
How it plays
- Start railroads, invest in them and build track westward.
- Decide when dividends are paid to shareholders, where to build, how much to build and when to cash in on opportunities.
- Manage your money carefully, as there are no loans to bail you out.
- The player with the most cash at the end of the game wins. Ties are possible but extremely rare.
Key features
- No luck involved, so results come down to the choices players make.
- For 3-5 players, ages 12+, with games taking about an hour.
- English edition.
